Bus Routes

Waukesha Metro Transit  has 17 routes that travel throughout the Waukesha County and parts of Milwaukee County.  Waukesha Metro Transit directly operates 10 routes. Wisconsin Coach Lines and the Milwaukee County Transit System operate the other routes. Below is a list of the routes including a link to each route's webpage.  If you need help understanding the route schedules, please consult the instructions for reading route schedules.

Routes Operated Directly by Waukesha Metro Transit

Route 1-Waukesha/Brookfield

Route 1 serves the northeast side of Waukesha and along Bluemound Road in Brookfield to Brookfield Square.  Route 1 makes connections with Route 2, Wisconsin Coach Lines(WCL) Routes 901, and Badger BusGoerkes at Corners Transit Station.  At Brookfield Square, Route 1 makes connections with WCL Route 218, Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) Route 10 and WCL Route 901.  This route also serves Horning Middle School, Westbrook Shopping Center.

Route 2-Arcadian 

Route 2 serves the east side of the city including La Casa de Esperanza, Goodwill on Nike Dr., Westbrook Shopping Center and Target.    

Route 3 serves the south central part of the city including  Post Office, WCTC Downtown Waukesha Campus, YMCA, KMart (on Sunset) and Waukesha South and Catholic Memorial High.

Route 4-Grand
Route 4 serves the south central part of the city including Carroll University and Sunset Drive.   

Route 5 serves southwest side of the city including the Library, Central Middle School, Waukesha Training Center, Shoppes at Fox River, and Fox Run Shopping Center.   Note:  Routes 5 & 6 combine to form one route on weekday nights and on weekends.   
Route 6 serves the southwest side of the city  including Fox Run Shopping Center, Shoppes at Fox River, and West High School.  Paul Ave.  Note:  Routes 5 & 6 combine to form one route on weekday nights and on weekends.   

Route 7 -Madison

Route 7 serves the west side of the city including Waukesha Memorial Hospital, Butler Middle School and North High.

Route 8 serves the northwest part of the city including Waukesha City Hall, Willow Park Apartments, UW-Waukesha, Butler Middle School and North High.

Route 9-Northview

Route 9 serves the north central and far northwest side of Waukesha and  part of Pewaukee including most of the Waukesha County Government's facilities, GE Healthcare, WCTC, and Workforce Development.

Route 15 -Racine Avenue
Major Destinations

Route 15 serves the southeast side of Waukesha including  Buchner Pool & Park, South High School, and KMart (on Sunset).

 

Routes Operated by Wisconsin Coach Lines

Route 218-New Berlin

Route 218 serves the New Berlin Industrial Park. This route makes connections with Metro Route 1 , MCTS Route 10 and WCL Route 901 at Brookfield Square.

Route 901-Waukesha Milwaukee Express

Route 901 serves the northeast side of Waukesha, Goerkes Corners, Bluemound Road in Brookfield to Brookfield Square, downtown Milwaukee including Marquette University, and UW-Milwaukee. Route 901 makes connections with Route 1 , Route 218, and MCTS Route 10 at Brookfield Square and makes connections with Route 1 and Route 2 at Goerkes Corners.

Route 904/905-Oconomowoc Milwaukee Express

Routes 904 & 905 operate from Oconomowoc to downtown Milwaukee. Route 904 serves Oconomowoc, Hartland, Pewaukee, Goerkes Corners and downtown Milwaukee including Marquette University.

Route 905 serves Oconomowoc, Delafield, Meadowbrook & Goerkes Corners Park-Ride Lots,  and downtown Milwaukee including Marquette University.

Route 906-Mukwonago Milwaukee Express

Route 906 serves Mukwonago, Big Bend, and Valley View (New Berlin) Park-Ride Lots  and downtown Milwaukee.

Routes Operated by the Milwaukee County Transit System

MCTS Route 10-Humboldt/Wisconsin

MCTS Route 10 operates Brookfield Square to Bayshore Mall via Bluemound Rd., downtown Milwaukee, and Humboldt Av. This route serves the Milwaukee County Zoo, Milwaukee Regional Medical Center, and Marquette University. MCTS Route 10 makes connections with Routes 1 , Route 218 , and WCL 901 at Brookfield Square.

MCTS Route 79-Menomonee Falls Flyer

 MCTS Route 79 operates from the Pilgrim Rd. Park-Ride Lot to downtown Milwaukee.
