Pretreatment Program

The Pretreatment Program regulates the discharge of non-domestic wastes to the plant. This includes:
  • Industrial wastes
  • Other non-residential hauled wastes
  • Catch basin contents
  • Contaminated groundwater and more

Regulations

Program personnel determine whether wastes will meet regulations. Where appropriate, waste sources are required to obtain permits or letters of acceptance. In order to meet regulations, the sources may be required to control pollutant levels in the waste prior to discharge (pretreatment).
