EQUIPMENT OPERATOR
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
STREETS DIVISION

This position performs semi-skilled and manual work in the operation of some light and heavy duty automotive equipment in the performance of various public works construction and maintenance activities.

Required:  High school diploma or equivalent and one (1) to three (3) years of experience in public works construction and maintenance projects.  Valid Wisconsin driver’s license with ABC endorsements (N preferred) with excellent driving record.  Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds and occasionally in excess of 50 pounds.

Salary range starts at $46,651; maximum $62,977 achieved through merit increases.

DROP-OFF CENTER MONITOR
RECYCLING SITE
Part Time

Monitor the drop off center during public hours directing residents to properly navigate through the center and dispose of their materials including recyclables, yard waste, and bulky trash items.  Directly interact with residents, other City employees and disposal contractors when they pick up or deliver materials.

Required:  High school diploma or HSED with one year experience in customer service or equivalent combination of experience and training.

Hours of work:  8 – 32 hours per month during the winter (Saturdays only) and 16 – 48 per month during the summer (Wednesdays and Saturdays).

Hourly Rate:  $11.52

OPERATOR
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
CLEAN WATER PLANT

Under general supervision operates and maintains plant processes and equipment including regular tours of the plant, adjustment of equipment, sample collection, simple lab test. Hours 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday but may include some nights and weekends. Requires being on-call.

Required:Associate’s Degree or equivalent in electronics and mechanical operations related to wastewater treatment plant operations or related trades and 4-6 years of experience in wastewater treatment plan and lift station operations or any equivalent combination of training and experience. May require certification in HVAC, plumbing, welding and/or heaving equipment operation, relevant DNR Wastewater Operation certification. Valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record. Ability to perform heavy physical tasks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Physical and drug test required.

Salary - $23.66; maximum $31.95 per hour achieved through merit increases.
